DETROIT – A man has been arrested after police said he shot and killed a man following an altercation on Detroit’s west side.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (June 16) at 7 p.m. in the 12000 block of Vaughan Street when officers from the Detroit Police Department’s 6th Precinct responded to a report of shots fired.

Police said the victim was transported to a Metro Detroit hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Officials said the shooter was taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

Police said preliminary information indicates the shooting followed an altercation between the victim and the person who was taken into custody.
The investigation remains ongoing.
