Detroit’s Motor City Mile has reached over $100k in donations -- Here’s where the money goes

Since the first swim in Detroit in 2019, the Motor City Mile has raised more than $600k for research

DETROIT – Swim Across America motor city mile has reached over $100k in donations, $20k more than last year.

The event is a fundraiser for cancer research at the University of Michigan.

Research done is focused on preventing cancer and improving lives of affected patients.

The Motor City Mile will take place on July 10, drawing in people of all ages and all skills to swim from a quarter mile up to two miles.

The event begins at the belle isle beach house, swimmers check in at 7 a.m., cancer survivors speak at 8 a.m. and everyone gets into the water at 8:45 a.m.

Since the first swim in Detroit in 2019, the Motor City Mile has raised more than $600k for research.
