YPSILANTI – A 42-year-old Michigan man was sentenced in federal court last week to 10 years in prison for receiving and distributing child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan, James Andrew Tallon, of Ypsilanti, distributed thousands of “horrific images and videos depicting the [sexual] abuse of infants and toddlers” from at least September 2023 up until his arrest in February 2025.

Prosecutors say the FBI’s investigation revealed that Tallon distributed the images and videos to individuals on every continent except for Antarctica during that period of time.
The case was investigated by the FBI’s Southeast Michigan Trafficking and Exploitation Crimes Task Force.
“If you sexually exploit children, expect to lose your freedom,” said Jennifer Runyan, special agent in charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office. “This predator will spend the next 10 years in federal prison paying the price for his horrific crimes.”
Receipt and distribution of child pornography each carry a mandatory minimum sentence of five years for first time offenders.
