DETROIT – Detroit police have arrested a man they say is responsible for the shooting death of a 22-year-old who had been reported missing for months.
Family members of Detroit resident Marvin Jordan III filed a missing persons report on his behalf on March 8, 2026, though authorities say he had not been seen by friends or family since Jan. 12.
Jordan’s body was later discovered by City of Detroit workers on May 5, in a field in the 17600 block of Fitzpatrick on the city’s west side. An investigation determined that Jordan was fatally shot.
Detroit police arrested a 22-year-old suspect in connection with the homicide investigation on Friday, July 16. The suspect, identified as Sheldon Golden, faces one count of first-degree murder and one felony firearm charge.
