Bridge to open to traffic on Monday

WINDSOR, Ont. – The Gordie Howe International Bridge will soon be open, with Canadians celebrating the completion of the years-long project.

According to officials, the new bridge connecting I-75 in Detroit to Highway 401 in Ontario will open to traffic as early as 12 p.m. on Monday, July 27. The toll-free multi-use path will open to walkers and cyclists on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

The ceremony on the Canadian side of the bridge is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. on July 24.
