DEARBORN, Mich. – Dearborn Police shot an armed 53-year-old man who they say was “causing a disturbance” on Friday night.
The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. on the 24000 block of New York St.

In a statement, the police say the unnamed man was causing a disturbance and yelling “die, die, die” repeatedly.
Police were called to the home, and when they arrived, he came out of the house carrying what was described as a “long gun” and an officer fired one shot, taking the man down.
The man was given first aid and was taken into custody before being taken to the hospital. The man is currently being treated for a non-life threatening injury.
No officers or bystanders were injured in the incident. Charges are pending against the man who was shot.
