DETROIT – A Livonia man is facing multiple charges after allegedly spraying a fire extinguisher at Detroit police officers three separate times.
Zachary Robert Stacer, 22, was charged with two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, three counts of felonious assault and five counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer.
On June 22, just after 4 p.m., Detroit police officers saw heavy traffic in the area of Grand River Avenue and West Warren Avenue due to a street takeover. While officers were trying to break up the traffic, Stacer allegedly went to the officers’ car, sprayed a fire extinguisher and left the scene.
In a separate incident, Detroit police officers responded to reports of drag racing in the area of Van Dyke and Charlevoix streets just after 12 a.m. on July 12. While officers were trying to direct traffic, Stacer allegedly went to the officers’ car, sprayed a fire extinguisher and left the scene.
Detroit police officers then responded to the area of Grand River Avenue and McGraw Street just after 3 a.m. on July 12 for another report of drag racing. While officers were trying to direct traffic, Stacer, once again, allegedly went to the officers’ car, sprayed a fire extinguisher, and left the scene.
Following an investigation, Stacer was arrested on July 30.
He is expected to be arraigned in court on Aug. 1 at 11:30 a.m.
