ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. – A goat appeared to be on a mission to become part of the Michigan State Police.
Michigan State Police troopers were investigating a crash on Aug. 7 at around 1:30 p.m. on River Road near Lambert Road in St. Joseph County.
According to police, a motorcycle crashed into a guardrail, and the motorcyclist ran into the woods, leading to troopers setting a perimeter and requesting K-9 to track.
While evidence was being collected, a Nigerian Dwarf goat wandered onto the scene, jumped into the back of the state police cruiser, also known as the “Blue Goose,” and “made it clear he wanted in on the action.”
“He also thought it was cool to trample upon the point of crash trying to shadow the trooper,” Michigan State Police said. “When he wasn’t selected for the track, he staged a brief protest by returning to the Blue Goose.”
Police did not catch the motorcyclist, but said they did get a “very determined and highly unofficial G-9 partner.”
