Man, 61, shot in head while riding bicycle on Detroit's west side

DETROIT – A 61-year-old man was shot early Sunday while riding his bicycle on Detroit's west side.

Police said the victim was riding near the intersection of Northfield Street and West Warren Avenue  at 12:15 a.m. when he heard a noise and realized he had been shot in the head. Police said the bullet exited the victim's nose.

The victim rode to a party store in the 5000 block of West Warren and called police. 

He was listed in serious condition.
