Man’s body found washed up on Lake Michigan beach

GANGES TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan police are working to identify a body that washed up onto a beach along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office said a homeowner called 911 on Wednesday morning after discovering a body along Lakeshore Drive south of Pier Cove Park in Ganges Township, according to WOOD-TV.

Police believe the body of the unidentified man had been in the water for “some time,” and likely came ashore overnight. The man was wearing brown leather shoes, and nothing else, according to WOOD-TV.

Police said they’re investigating the death as suspicious, but didn’t find any clear signs of foul play. The county medical examiner is working to determine a cause of death.
