A Western Michigan University graduate was hit and killed by a car as she walked along a street near campus.
The victim has been identified as Breeana Dixit, 22, from St. Clair Shores. According to WOOD-TV she graduated in December 2012.

The crash happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Emajean Street and W. Michigan Avenue in Kalamazoo.
A nearby resident said Dixit had just left a local apartment complex. It is not yet known where she was going.
Authorities do not believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
