Monica Conyers fired from 910 AM radio job

Station says she 'violated corporate policy'

DETROIT – Former Detroit City Council president Monica Conyers has been fired from her job at 910 AM Superstation.

Conyers started hosting a weekly afternoon show on 910 AM (WDFD) late last year. The station announced her termination Wednesday morning, stating she violated corporate policy.

"Her position as radio host on 910 AM Superstation has been terminated. Her pass and privileges have been revoked," a statement reads.

No other details were made available.

In 2010, Conyers was sentenced to more than three years in prison for bribery. She served most of that sentence at a federal prison in West Virginia.
