Novi man accused of killing wife, children extradited back to Michigan

DETROIT – A Novi man accused of killing his wife and children returned to Michigan after fleeing to India nearly five years ago.

FBI escorted Lakshminivasa Nerusu in handcuffs through Detroit Metro Airport on Saturday.

Federal investigators located Nerusu in India and extradited him back to the United States.

He is accused of killing his 37-year-old wife, Jayalakshmi Nerusu, and their two children, 14-year old daughter Tejasvi Nerusu and 12-year old son Siva Kumar Nerusu, on October 13, 2008. They had all been stabbed.

Police found the bodies days after when they went to check on the family after the children didn't show up for school.

Nerusu is expected to be charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
