Plane makes emergency landing on frozen Lake Huron

Single-engine plane with 5 onboard makes emergency landing on frozen Michigan lake; no injuries

A single engine plane with five people onboard made an emergency landing Monday on frozen Lake Huron near Mackinac Island.

No one was injured when the small plane, a Piper, made the landing about 9:35 a.m.

Everyone who was onboard was removed by snowmobilers, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The flight's origin and original destination are not known at this time.
