PONTIAC, Mich. – A Pontiac woman suffered burns after her boyfriend threw hot coals in her face early Friday.
The victim, 34, told the Oakland County Sheriff's Office that she was waiting outside for deputies to respond and that her boyfriend was going to come back to kill her, authorities said.

Deputies said that the woman had burns on her face and other signs of obvious trauma. According to authorities, the woman and her 35-year-old boyfriend live in an RV trailer that has a wood-burning stove.
When deputies responded to the trailer at about 12:45 a.m., they saw a man fleeing. A K-9 unit was used to track the man to a home on Harriet Street. Deputies said that a hostile man confronted them at the house before telling them that his cousin, the woman's boyfriend, was hiding in his basement.
The boyfriend was arrested, authorities said.
The victim was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital. After she became unresponsive and had trouble breathing, she was taken to McLaren Hospital-Oakland for treatment.
She is expected to survive.
