DETROIT – Detroit police are working to figure out why two people were shot while driving in a car Tuesday morning just south of the intersection at Hubbell Avenue and Outer Drive.
A man in his 30s was killed and a 36-year-old woman was critically injured when someone opened fire on their vehicle about 3 a.m. The woman, who was driving, was shot in her head. She was rushed to nearby Sinai-Grace Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
Detroit police said officers are searching for a burgundy Mazda. They believe the Mazda drove up alongside the victims' vehicle and someone from inside the Mazda opened fire. About 10 shots went into the victims' vehicle.
The victims' vehicle continued to travel south on Hubbell Avenue until it finally crashed into a tree.
Anyone who may have witnessed this shooting needs to contact Detroit police.
