Young father found dead after gun battle in Hamtramck

Quntius Parham shot multiple time on Grand Haven near large housing project

HAMTRAMCK, Mich. – Malinda Parham says her nephew, 23-year-old Quintius Parham was "at the wrong place at the wrong time."

"My phone rang and his sister said, 'He's dead. My brother is dead. He's dead, we need to get to Hamtramck,'" she said.

Family members say police told them just after 5 a.m. that Parham was shot multiple times around midnight.

"It's going to be hard. He has a 5-year-old daughter who keeps asking where's her daddy, why isn't he answering his cell phone," Parham said.

Police tell Local 4 that the shooting was a "gun battle" on Grand Haven near a large housing project.

Police say they have several people they are questioning, but family members of the victims say witnesses aren't cooperating.

"They don't have anybody. They're still out there," Parham told Local 4 News.
