UTICA, Mich. – The United Shore Professional Baseball League will hold open tryouts this week for its 2017 season for experienced players ages 18-26.
The league consists of the Utica Unicorns, the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers, the Eastside Diamond Hoppers and the Westside Woolly Mammoths, a new team this year.
League officials said 13 league players were signed during last year's inaugural season by Major League Baseball organizations.
Tryouts are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Jimmy John's Field at 7171 Auburn Road in Utica.
