Interview: Detroit Pistons coach talks player expectations, ‘positionless basketball’

Coach Dwane Casey shares expectations, goals for upcoming season

DETROIT – The Detroit Pistons hosted a media day last week, sharing their thoughts and expectations ahead of the upcoming season.

In addition to hearing from Cade Cunningham, the NBA’s 2021 first overall draft pick, Local 4′s Jamie Edmonds caught up with Pistons coach Dwane Casey to get his take what’s to come.

With a team of young players, Casey says he’s looking forward to seeing what this season holds, saying “the unknown is exciting.” He also shared his expectations for his players new and old, while explaining the importance of “positionless basketball.”

The Detroit Pistons kick off the preseason on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit against the San Antonio Spurs.
