CLEVELAND, Ohio – An Ohio State football coach was carjacked Monday during a recruiting trip.
Buckeyes tight ends coach Keenan Bailey was on a recruiting visit to Ginn Academy in Cleveland when he was carjacked near the school at gunpoint, according to Cleveland.com.
The report says Bailey was not injured during the confrontation, but his Dodge Durango was taken by four “youths.” The carjackers were chased down by police and taken into custody.
Cleveland.com reports this is part of a recent carjacking spree by teenagers ages 15-18. They tried to carjack two other women before being arrested, officials said.
Bailey has been on Ohio State’s staff since 2016. This is his first year as tight ends coach.
The Buckeyes are scheduled to play Missouri in the Cotton Bowl after an 11-1 season that concluded with a third-straight loss to Michigan.
