Kickoff time announced for 4 Michigan State football games in 2025

Spartans open season with night games vs. WMU, Boston College

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The kickoff times have been announced for four Michigan State football games in 2025.

The Big Ten revealed that the Spartans will open the season against Western Michigan at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, on Fox Sports 1.

In Week 2 (Sept. 6), Michigan State will host Boston College in primetime -- a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on NBC.

Michigan State’s final nonconference game on Sept. 13 against Youngstown State will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and be broadcast on Big Ten Network.

The Oct. 11 game against UCLA is homecoming at Spartan Stadium and will kick off at noon.

None of the other eight game times have been nailed down, though the Nebraska (Oct. 4) and Indiana (Oct. 18) road games will either kick off at noon, 3:30 p.m., or 4 p.m.

Here’s the full 2025 schedule:

  • Aug. 29: vs. Western Michigan -- 7 p.m. on FS1
  • Sept. 6: vs. Boston College -- 7:30 p.m. on NBC
  • Sept. 13: vs. Youngstown State -- 3:30 p.m. on BTN
  • Sept. 20: at USC
  • Oct. 4: at Nebraska -- noon, 3:30 p.m., or 4 p.m.
  • Oct. 11 (homecoming): vs. UCLA -- 12 p.m.
  • Oct. 18: at Indiana -- noon, 3:30 p.m., or 4 p.m.
  • Oct. 25: vs. Michigan
  • Nov. 1: at Minnesota
  • Nov. 15: vs. Penn State
  • Nov. 22: at Iowa
  • Nov. 29 (at Ford Field): vs. Maryland
