Speaking of Izzo, Jase led the Spartans to the Elite 8, where they fell to the Auburn Tigers in Atlanta during the 2024-25 season.

Jase, who was not invited to the NBA draft green room, is a dynamic shot maker who creates floor space with playmaking ability.

Like he did when leading the Spartans to the Big Ten championship, Jase can catch fire in a hurry.

Jase got off to a slow start during his freshman season for Michigan State, as he entered the season coming off the bench.

Once entered into the starting lineup, Jase got hot, leading the Spartans to a 30-7 record while securing the Big Ten regular-season title outright with a 17-3 record, earning the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

Jase averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, demonstrating to the National Basketball Association that he was ready for the league.

The Detroit Pistons have made a promising choice, selecting Colorado Buffaloes small forward Cody Williams with the No. 5 overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NBA draft, a move that holds great potential for the team’s future.

Williams, the younger brother of Jalen Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder, is a 6′7″, 178-pound freshman forward who draws a high-end comparison to former Pistons favorite Jerami Grant and a floor of Three-and-D slasher Jaden McDaniels, who made his name during the 2024 NBA playoffs alongside Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

NBA Draft scouting reports indicate that Williams will be a good spot-up three-point shooter with the skills and mentality to slash to the basket for an easy bucket while also locking up the opposing team’s best scorer.

With the addition of Williams, the Pistons are assembling a young team with enormous potential.

Alongside 2023 No. 5 pick Ausar Thompson and 2022 No. 5 pick Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren, and Cade Cunningham, the team’s future looks incredibly bright especially from beyond the arc as he will get plenty of catch-and-shoot jumpers.

Williams is the prototypical lengthy, athletic wing in the league today. Scouts say he can push the tempo in the transition while also turning the corner on his defender to attack the rim with his length and ability to slide his feet.

With the Buffaloes, Williams, in 24 games, shot 55.2% from the field, 41.5% from deep, 71.4% from the charity stripe, averaging 11.9 points, 3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 0.6 steals per game.
