A Michigan appeals court dismissed a DTE-backed group’s lawsuit this week which sought to keep an Ann Arbor public power proposal off the General Election ballot in November.

The electric board proposed by Ann Arbor for Public Power would have power from the City of Ann Arbor to create, maintain and administer a public power utility system.

The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners have directed the County Administrator to explore alternatives to the area's existing privately-owned public utilities.
