cbsnews.comAsian American and Pacific Islander women stand to lose $400,000 over a 40-year career due to the pay gap
This means that the average pay gap figure that is touted for AAPI women does not fully explain the pay disparity some Asian American communities face. While AAPI women are perceived to have the smallest gender pay gap of any racial group of women, it's important to note that the pay gap varies widely among different AAPI communities. Today, more than one in four AAPI women are working a front-line job, with many of these women receiving unequal pay. In May 2020, unemployment for Asian American women peaked at 16.4%. Additionally, when looking at women's long-term unemployment, Asian women have the highest rates of all groups with 44.7% of Asian women over the age of 16 having been unemployed for six months or more in February, according to NWLC.

justice.govOften overlooked, Asian American Christian voters could be key in Georgia Senate runoffs
Religious Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, or AAPIs, in Georgia and across the country are not a monolith. Yet amid a Black-White political and religious divide, Asian American Christian communities represent untapped voter networks for political parties. But candidates on both sides of the aisle have largely overlooked the role of religion for Asian American voters who could help decide an election expected to come down to razor-thin margins. A 2012 Pew Research Center study found that a plurality of Asian Americans in the U.S., about 42%, identify as Christian. "There hasn't been the same kind of concentrated effort to Asian Americans of any religious background or Asian Americans as a whole amongst the Democrats until pretty recently."
cnbc.comDemocrats target Asian American and Latino voters in crucial Georgia Senate runoffs
A historic surge in Asian American and Latino voters helped flip the state blue for President-elect Joe Biden, according to Democratic data firm TargetSmart. Meanwhile, 62% of Georgia's Latino voters supported Biden and 63% of AAPI voters nationwide favored Biden. Historically, Asian American and Latino voter turnout has dropped off in runoff elections compared with Black and White voters. Language barriers and gaps in civic education are challenges that particularly affect Asian American and Latino voters, many of whom are first-time voters, young people or naturalized citizens. Asian American and Latino voters are not monoliths either; they span diverse ethnicities, languages and experiences between different communities.
