DETROIT – The second period was exhilarating for the Detroit Red Wings. Suter, playing against his former team, took three penalties and the Blackhawks scored on two of them. The Red Wings scored three times in the second period to cut their deficit to 4-3. But Brandon Hagel took the steam out of the Red Wings’ comeback hopes by scoring with 3:47 to play. The Red Wings looked good at the start, skating fast and applying pressure in the offensive zone.

Greiss made 21 saves for the Red Wings, who failed to follow up a win with another victory for the fourth time this season. COLD BEERThe Red Wings opened some concessions stands for the first time this season, allowing about 200 people attending the game to buy food and drink.
