The New York Rangers will play the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round of the NHL playoffs.

Marc-Andre Fleury may have been the biggest winner at the NHL trade deadline, getting dealt by the rebuilding Chicago Blackhawks to the potentially contending Minnesota Wild.

The two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning made another trade on the eve of the deadline aimed at becoming the NHL’s first team to win three in a row since the 1980s.

Dylan Strome scored three goals and the Chicago Blackhawks had their highest-scoring game of the season in an 8-5 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night.

Minnesotans make the most of the cold winter weather at a huge ice maze in Stillwater, US. More than 2,900 blocks of ice were used to build the labyrinth, which also features a frozen slide.
