CEO: Italy-made Sputnik V aimed for EU market, if approved
Russia signed a deal to produce 10 million doses of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Italy this year. โThat is not the goal, it is a wish,โโ Adienne founder and president Antonio Francesco Di Naro told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The first agreement to make the Sputnik V in any EU country was signed Tuesday by Swiss-based Adienne Pharma & Biotech and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. AdโThis procedure requires months, or even more, because this is a biological product,โ Di Naro said. But the company could sell the vaccine it produced to non-EU countries as long as it obtains Italian regulatory approval, Di Naro said.

WAYNE, Mich. โ A very well known Metro Detroit trucking company was officially sold to Lavalle Transportation as of Tuesday. The company sold, Rush Trucking, is owned by well known businesswoman Andra Rush. Thirty-five years ago she started a trucking company and grew it into a group of companies making $500 million a year in revenue. But time marched on and the trucking company had to change. With Covid-19โฒs impact and the continual driver shortage, it became even clearer that the automotive focused segment of the trucking industry required consolidation.
US Chamber says some legislators will lose campaign funding

The chamber said its political action committee will cut donations from some legislators who spouted unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud in trying to stop the vote from being certified. โThere are some members who by their actions will have forfeited the support of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,โ he said. The chamber contributed $10,000 to Hawley's campaign, but Bradley said he didn't know if chamber had ever asked for money back.

It's an annual fundraiser organized by the Negaunee Lions Club and the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce. โWith the increasing popularity of the Teal Lake Melt-Down fundraiser weโre hoping payouts continue to rise each year,โ organizers said. In 2019, the winning guess was April 26. The winning entry must be purchased at least 48 hours prior to the structure falling through the ice.
Michigan Chamber of Commerce discourages statewide stay-at-home order
DETROIT โ Michigan Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Rich Studley, sent a letter to the stateโs governor, Gretchen Whitmer, on Friday discouraging a stay-at-home or shelter-in-place executive order. To date a total of four states including Illinois, New Jersey, California and New York have enforced lockdowns. As of Sunday, March 22 the Michigan death toll from the virus rose to 8 with a total of 807 people infected statewide. Group challenges Michigan anti-gerrymandering ballot initiative
LANSING, Mich. โ A group with ties to the Michigan Chamber of Commerce is challenging a 2018 ballot initiative that aims to end political gerrymandering by empowering an independent commission to draw the stateโs congressional and legislative districts. The Michigan Chamber of Commerce, whose political action committee gave $100,000 in February, came out in opposition to the redistricting proposal and two other ballot initiatives last fall. The state elections bureau recently released a sample pulled from 425,000 signatures submitted by the redistricting group . It does not interfere with or modify any other aspect of state government,โ said Jim Lancaster, an attorney for the anti-gerrymandering group. The panel would be prohibited from providing a โdisproportionate advantageโ to a political party, using โaccepted measures of partisan fairness.โ
