Mexican soldiers discover 43-acre marijuana farm in north
Mexican soldiers found a 43-acre (17.4-hectare) marijuana farm in the northern border state of Chihuahua, the army said Sunday. The army said the fields were capable of producing about 11 tons (22,000 kilograms) of marijuana. Good dog -- Dachshund saves chihuahua mix from mountain lion
EVERGREEN, Colo. – Winston the dachshund became an unlikely hero Nov. 7 when he saved his friend from a mountain lion. Winston and Mijo, a chihuahua mix, were outside in Evergreen, Colorado when the unthinkable happened. A young mountain lion attacked Mijo. You can watch the full story in the video above. He lost his right eye in the attack and may have some neurological damage, but thanks to Winston, he survived.

A Mexican official had earlier said the killers might have mistaken the family for members of a rival drug cartel. They were related to a prominent fundamentalist Mormon family by the same name, said Daniel LeBaron, a cousin of one of the victims, Rhonita Maria Miller. Daniel LeBaron lives in Colonia LeBaron in Chihuahua state, a community established by fundamentalist Mormons in 1924 that has close ties to the LeBarons of Bavispe. He said there are thousands of fundamentalist Mormons in northern Mexico, although a reliable count has not been done. A Chihuahua that was carried away by a seagull over the weekend is still missing. Gizmo, 4, was outside in England when the bird reportedly flew down, picked him up and flew away on Sunday.
