Tragedy struck an Adrian family after a mother and father were killed in a crash Thursday night. The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan has risen to 458,852 as of Saturday, including 11,461 deaths, state officials report. Saturdayโs update includes 3,896 new cases and 187 additional deaths -- including 155 deaths that were identified during a review of records, meaning they did not occur between Friday and Saturday. The state of Michigan no longer provides updates on statewide coronavirus data on Sundays. The next data update is expected Monday afternoon.

ADRIAN, Mich. โ Tragedy struck an Adrian family when a collision killed a mother and father. โItโs so hard,โ said Jeffrey Hale. His parents, 60-year-old David Hale and 57-year-old Deborah Hale, and the family dog all were killed in a collision Thursday night. โMy parents were actually in Taylor, doing a little bit of Christmas shopping. On their way home, they live out in Adrian, and they were on US-223, only 5 minutes away from their home,โ Jeffrey Hale said.

Transcripts were released late Monday from interviews with David Holmes, the diplomat who overheard the call, and from David Hale, the State Departments No. Holmes is scheduled to testify publicly Thursday about the call. He told lawmakers behind closed doors Friday that he overheard Sondland telling Trump that the president of Ukraine would do anything that Trump wanted, according to remarks obtained by The Associated Press. Hale is scheduled to testify publicly Wednesday.
