Will Smith is only the fifth Black man in history to win an Oscar for Best Actor. At first glance it was a throwaway line in the patter, suggesting Pinkett Smith would appear in G.I. Jane 2, a reference to Demi Moore’s 1997 movie in which her head was shaved for most of the movie as her character attempts to finish a military training program. Rock has targeted some of his most biting jokes at the Smiths in the past, the most notable being the 2016 Oscars when he mocked Pinkett Smith’s decision to boycott the Oscars, suggesting that she wouldn’t have been invited anyway.

Union tells actors not to work on pandemic film "Songbird"

LOS ANGELES The union that represents film actors told its members Thursday not to work on the upcoming pandemic thriller Songbird, saying the filmmakers have not been up-front about safety measures and had not signed the proper agreements for the movie that is among the first in production after coronavirus closures. Actors had reportedly been rehearsing remotely for the film produced by Michael Bay and directed by Adam Mason. "Also, as noted in the Do Not Work order, the producers have not yet become signatory to our agreement. We have no further comment.The small film was among the first to attempt to resume production after the long closure. One of the companies, Invisible Narrative, told Deadline, We are actively working to resolve this paperwork issue with the guild.

Lisa Niemi opens up about life with Patrick Swayze

But the real Swayze will soon be seen in "I Am Patrick Swayze," a new documentary about his life made by the late actor's wife, Lisa Niemi. Niemi discussed Swayze's career and his 2009 death at the age of 57 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. "It's the worst thing in the world to go through," Niemi said of Swayze's cancer fight. "The first time Buddy (her nickname for Swayze) and I danced together was at a school exhibition," Niemi said.
