In response to comments made by Jim Boeheim to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the Rutgers associate head coach and former Pittsburgh star guard accused the Syracuse head coach of buying teams and paying players during his near-five-decades at the helm of the program. “Next time ask (Boeheim) how many teams he bought before NIL (name, image and likeness deals) was legal. !”Boeheim told ESPN on Saturday night that college basketball is in an “awful” place and accused multiple programs — including Knights’ alma mater — of buying their team through NIL deals. “Pittsburgh bought a team,” Boeheim said. The Rose Bowl agreed to amend its contract to allow the CFP to expand starting in 2024, according to a report from ESPN. The CFP has been a four-team field since its inception in 2014 when it replaced the Bowl Championship Series. The 12-team format will include the six highest-ranked conference champions plus the next six highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded one through four and get a bye in the first round.
