Starting Wednesday, all ramp metering signals along the I-96 Flex Route have gone into effect.

Crews will close lanes and ramps on I-696 and I-96 Flex Route from the end of October through the beginning of November as construction is nearly complete.

Crews will be shifting traffic along the I-96 Flex Route throughout October and November, causing some lane and ramp closures.

The I-696 “Restore the Reuther” Rebuilding Michigan project and the I-96 Flex Route project from US-24 to Beck Road will begin construction with repairs on the westbound side of both freeways.

The I-96 Flex Route project is up and running again, and is causing both short-term and long-term road and ramp closures in Metro Detroit.

Year two of the I-96 flex route construction is set to begin on March 15.
