Ex-Lions defensive tackle reportedly signing 1-year deal with Kansas City Chiefs
ALLEN PARK -- Veteran defensive tackle Danny Shelton is signing a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, ESPN reports. He had 37 tackles, including two tackles for loss and one sack. He had a career-low 31 tackles, including one tackle for loss and 0.5 sacks. Shelton spent the first three seasons of his career with the Cleveland Browns.
mlive.com2022 NFL draft: Western Michigan WR Skyy Moore goes to Kansas City Chiefs in 2nd round
For the second consecutive year, a Western Michigan wide receiver heard his name called in Round 2 of the NFL draft when the Kansas City Chiefs selected Skyy Moore with the 54th overall pick Friday. The WMU sophomore wideout follows in the footsteps of former college teammate D’Wayne Eskridge, who went 56th overall to the Seattle Seahawks in 2021, and he is the six Bronco pass catcher drafted in the last 17 years. During the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, Moore played a secondary role to Eskridge, but still hauled in 25 passes for 388 yards and three scores in five games, which added up to second team all-conference honors. He now joins a Kansas City passing game looking to replace the explosive Tyreek Hill, who the Chiefs traded to the Miami Dolphins in March. Moore will be running alongside All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce, newly acquired wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and former Pro Bowl wideout Mecole Hardman, while catching passes from 2018 NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes in what should be an explosive Kansas City offense.
mlive.comChiefs actively considering future of Arrowhead Stadium
The Kansas City Chiefs are actively considering the future of Arrowhead Stadium, pushing ahead with planning far earlier than expected following the Kansas City Royals' decision to investigate a new downtown ballpark. Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said Friday that the Chiefs, who have shared the Truman Sports Complex with the Royals since the early 1970s, would help the Major League Baseball team evaluate what is best for them. “I know there's been a lot of discussion about it over the last several months, and maybe even going back almost a year, to when the Royals announced they were thinking about different opportunities,” Hunt said.
news.yahoo.comChiefs suddenly among busiest NFL teams during offseason
The Kansas City Chiefs were supposed to be quiet during free agency, given the perennial AFC West champions had most of their big names tied up in long-term contracts and they already were bumping up against the salary cap. Brett Veach had other ideas. The uber-aggressive Chiefs general manager instead made a splash by signing former Texans safety Justin Reid and former Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, then turned the NFL on its head by swinging a blockbuster trade that sent three-time All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins for a package of draft picks.

While the Los Angeles Rams will enter the season and the defending champions, they are not the favorite to win next season. Despite neither team even making it to the Super Bowl this year, all three oddsmakers we checked with have the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs as the teams with the best odds of bringing home the Lombardi Trophy next season. The Rams are the favorite out of the NFC, but teams like the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers aren’t too far behind. The odds reflected below were compiled early this week and may have changed as more bets are placed.

mlive.comWith Detroit Lions due for international game, NFL expands series to Germany this season
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions offloaded a few coaches before boarding their flight to London during a disastrous start to the 2015 season. The NFL announced on Wednesday they are expanding the international series to Germany, where they’ll play one game each of the next four seasons. The game this year will be played at Allianz Arena in Munich, while two others will be played in Frankfurt. They’ve also never given up a home game to play abroad, and have an extra one to spare this year in the new 17-game slate.

mlive.comAnalysis: Chiefs kicking themselves for not kicking it
The Kansas City Chiefs were so tantalizingly close to the end zone and a third consecutive trip to the Super Bowl that they clean forgot the lessons imparted just two months ago by their division rivals. Both the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers got greedy against the Chiefs, going for touchdowns instead of field goals just before halftime. The Chiefs could have sent Harrison Butker out for a chip shot field goal and a 24-10 halftime cushion over Cincinnati in the AFC championship Sunday, but Kansas City went for the kill shot instead.

The Kansas City Chiefs followed perhaps the greatest 13 seconds in franchise history in the divisional round against the Bills with 13 seconds late in the first half of the AFC title game against Cincinnati that they'd rather just forget. The Bengals took advantage of Kansas City's many mistakes to dig out of a 21-3 hole, force overtime and watch Evan McPherson drill a 31-yard field goal for a 27-24 victory, giving the long-downtrodden franchise its first conference championship in 33 years. “It's definitely disappointing,” said Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns but also had two second-half interceptions, including one in overtime that gave the Bengals the chance to drive for the win.
