BATTLE CREEK — There was nothing sugary sweet about Thursday’s interaction between the striking union and corporate workers inside Kellogg’s world headquarters. Union workers have complained about seven-day work weeks and forced overtime shifts. Around 1,400 union Kellogg workers from Michigan, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Nebraska are on strike. At midnight on Oct. 5, the master contract for Kellogg’s union workers expired and a massive walkout took place across four states. Grocery store shelves have looked light on Kellogg products in recent weeks, but Kellogg Company spokesperson Kris Bahner said it’s too soon to tell if the strike has impacted production.
