Motorist caught going 150 mph in Dodge Charger Hellcat charged with reckless driving
DETROIT – “Just because it can doesn’t mean you should.”That’s the word from the Michigan State Police in Detroit after a motorist was caught going 150 miles per hour on I-75. The man was spotted at approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday when a trooper was stationed on the major highway near Lahring Road in Holly Township. The trooper observed a white Dodge Charger Hellcat recklessly passing all other vehicles heading northbound. The trooper conducted a traffic stop a mile down the highway and arrested the driver for reckless driving. The Hellcat is currently sitting in a tow yard, police said.mlive.com
Lahring Road over US-23 will close for bridge repairs starting Wednesday
FLINT, MI - The Michigan Department of Transportation will close Lahring Road over US-23 for bridge repairs beginning Wednesday, July 7. Lahring Road will close between Torrey Road and North Road. Lahring Road is expected to re-open on Friday, July 30. A detour will be posted using Linden Road, Thompson Road and Torrey Road. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.mlive.com
Woman arrested for driving while intoxicated after motorcyclist dies in Groveland Township crash
GROVELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. A motorcyclist was killed when a woman rear-ended them at a high rate of speed early Sunday morning, officials say. Michigan State Police say at about 3:30 a.m. a woman was traveling north on I-75 near Lahring Road at a high rate of speed when she rear-ended the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was killed from the impact of the crash, officials said. The woman who struck the motorcyclist was arrested for operating her vehicle while intoxicated. Northbound lanes of I-75 and two southbound lanes were closed on Sunday following the crash.
