Lisa Ludwinski, owner of Sister Pie in Detroit, has reopened her bakery after a five-month closure, focusing on catering and special events as a preliminary phase before resuming full operations.

After announcing it would temporarily close its West Village location to reconfigure its business model, Sister Pie has been busy hosting pop-ups, experimenting with new menu items and determining the next steps for the business.

Popular Detroit bakery announced it's taking a break from daily operations starting June 9.
