ANN ARBOR, MI -- An Ypsilanti-based debt management platform is one of three winners of Ann Arbor SPARK’s Invest360 competition, taking home both a first prize and the “People’s Choice” award. LoanSense is a platform that reduces student loan payments, resulting in an increased budget for a home. The company, founded by Catalina Kaiyoorawongs, was awarded $50,000 for winning the information technology sector of the competition and an additional $50,000 for winning the People’s Choice award.

Invest360 is a pitch competition that recognizes promising emerging companies in the mobility, healthcare, and information technology sectors.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Ypsilanti-based LoanSense has partnered with loan officer JoJo Dries to help community members learn how their student loans are preventing them from qualifying for a home loan. At noon on Oct. 22, individuals can attend the free “When your Student Loans Disqualify you from a Home Loan: Answers and Solutions” webinar to figure out how student loans impact homeownership. The webinar will be part seminar, part Q&A session so attendees are encouraged to bring questions. “As a loan officer, I am always looking for new ways to help my clients. LoanSense has been using customized solutions to help student loan borrowers qualify for mortgages by acting as a personalized student loan advisor.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. Watch six regional startups pitch their businesses for the chance to win $20,000. The pitch competition has been organized by the Ann Arbor Entrepreneurs Fund and will be hosted by Dug Song, Founder of Duo Security and A2EF steering committee member. Applications for the pitch competition were open to startups serving Washtenaw and Wayne counties that focused on social impact.
