Miami quarterback D’Eriq King is out for the season, coach Manny Diaz said on his weekly radio show Monday. King, a team captain, injured his shoulder taking a hit from Michigan State linebacker Quavaris Crouch on Sept. 18 and has not played since. The Hurricanes lost to Michigan State 38-17 at home. Diaz told 560 WQAM radio in Miami that King will have surgery on his right shoulder, and freshman Tyler Van Dyke will start moving forward. “That guy, as you saw in the Michigan State game, would do anything to get back on the field and be able to play for us,” Diaz said.
