How Michigan State went from a 14-2 start to a 4-5 month
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – A late January swoon has extended into a mid-February slump for Michigan State. Even Izzo was clear when his team was 14-2 in mid-January that Michigan State wasn’t as good as its record would suggest. But the timing gave the words more weight: Penn State had just beaten Michigan State late after a telling late-game possession for the Spartans. But Michigan State does have youth and inexperience in some key areas that are showing at this critical juncture of the season. They’re on the court and contributing, but not in the way Michigan State needs its seniors to be in mid-February.
