Fromm flops in 1st start, benched in Giants' loss to Eagles
Jake Fromm got a pep talk before his first NFL start from the ineffective New York Giants quarterback he replaced in the lineup. Fromm got an early hook and gave coach Joe Judge little choice but to bench him in the third quarter with a debut that seemed to get worse with each drive. Fromm went 6 of 17 for 25 yards and one interception.news.yahoo.com
Injured Jabrill Peppers appears to take veiled shot at Giants’ coaching staff
Jabrill Peppers seems less than pleased with someone in New York. Peppers, an All-American at Michigan, suffered a torn ACL and high ankle sprain in October, but that didn’t stop the Giants safety from taking a veiled shot at someone within the organization on Monday. It could be a shot at Freddie Kitchens, who inherited the responsibilities of offensive coordinator after the Giants fired Jason Garrett. Or he could be taking a shot at second-year head coach Joe Judge, who previously served as special teams coordinator in New England. Peppers was drafted out of Michigan by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.mlive.com
With Glennon now concussed, Giants' issues at QB worsen
Not only is there no clarity on when starter Daniel Jones — who missed Sunday’s 20-9 loss to Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins with a neck injury — can return, but now his backup may be looking at an extended absence as well. Mike Glennon was diagnosed postgame with a concussion, the hardest hit on a day where the Giants took many in Miami. “Look, I don’t know if you guys saw my high school quarterback tape, but I’m going to put it out there, emergency,” Giants safety Logan Ryan said.news.yahoo.com
The Latest: Steelers get AFC berth, Packers clinch NFC North
The Chargers and Falcons are tied at 17 midway through the fourth quarter. Kenny Moore also starred for the Colts with a spectacular one-handed, diving end-zone interception in the second quarter. Adams didn’t do much other than run the scrambling Darnold to the sideline midway through the second quarter. Seattle took its opening possession and got 19-yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Freddie Swain. Mack also recovered a Duke Johnson fumble in the first quarter and deflected a Watson pass in the second quarter.
Vikings outlast error-prone Jags 27-24 on Bailey's OT kick
Minnesota Vikings place kicker Dan Bailey (5) celebrates with teammates after kicking a 23-yard field goal during overtime in an NFL football game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, in Minneapolis. The Cowboys, Panthers and Jaguars (1-11), who lost their 11th straight game, are a combined 8-27. Chase McLaughlin even had a chance to win it with a 62-yard field goal at the end of the fourth quarter that fell short. FOUR FIGURESJefferson joined Pro Football Hall of Fame member Randy Moss (1998) as the only rookies in Vikings history to reach 1,000 receiving yards. Vikings: CB Jeff Gladney (calf) and TE Brandon Dillon (ankle) each left the game.
The Latest: Home teams now 65-65-1 in this pandemic season
That means that going into tonight’s Saints-Buccaneers showdown, home teams are 65-65-1 so far this season. That homefield advantage has largely been erased with sparse crowds or no fans at games because of the coronavirus pandemic. Las Vegas though has taken control on its first two drives of the second half. Neither had started an NFL game, but both have been in the league much longer than DiNucci. The Tennessee Titans already lost left tackle Taylor Lewan for the season, and now they are without left guard Rodger Saffold.
