Pair of Kalamazoo-area juniors earn Division-I football offers

KALAMAZOO, MI - Four Kalamazoo-area high school teams took to the gridiron Saturday for the state’s first installment of January football, but at this point in the season, most squads are gearing up for the Fall 2021 campaign. Kalamazoo Central and Portage Central both lost in the opening round of the playoffs, but there’s plenty of optimism going forward for the Maroon Giants and Mustangs due to a pair of rising juniors on their rosters. K-Central’s Cincear Lewis and Portage Central’s Cross Watson both picked up Division-I scholarship offers over the weekend, with Lewis’ opportunity coming from Eastern Michigan and Watson’s from Penn. After a great call with @CoachMetzler I’m very honored to receive my first D1 football offer to play at the next level at U Penn!!!
