Purina is expanding its recall of select dry dog food due to potentially elevated levels of Vitamin D, the company announced in a news release. The recall is for Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EL Elemental (PPVD EL) prescription dry dog food, and for both 8-pound and 20-pound bags of the product. For the 8-pound bags, the UPC Code is 38100 19190 and the Production Code is 2213 1082. For the 20-pound bags, the UPC Code is 38100 19192 and the Production Code is 2214 1082. Purina says any pet owners noticing these signs in their pets should contact their veterinarian.

Nestlé Purina PetCare Company is recalling some cans of Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Low Fat (PPVD EN Low Fat) prescription wet dog food in 13.4 oz cans due to a labeling error.
