Major League Baseball came back to the Field of Dreams carrying a big piece of Cooperstown.
The Iowa farmland mystique from “Field of Dreams” still lives on through a group of locals who call themselves the Ghost Players.
And there will be a Major League Baseball game played there in 2020. MLB announced on Thursday that a regular-season game will be played on Aug.13, 2020, at the site where the iconic baseball movie was filmed, between the Yankees and White Sox. They will play at an 8,000-seat temporary stadium at the Dyersville farm site, and the game will be nationally televised on FOX. This will be the first MLB game in Iowa. "'Field of Dreams' captures the uniqueness of Iowans' can-do attitude, and there's no better place to host our state's very first Major League game than this legendary baseball field in Dyersville," Iowa Gov.
