Street racer accused of dragging Michigan officer with vehicle
DETROIT – Police are searching for a suspect after a police officer who responded to reports of street racing was struck and then dragged by a Ford Mustang in downtown Detroit early Monday, June 6, FOX 2 Detroit reports. The suspect is expected to be charged with assault with intent to murder, Detroit Asst. Two officers were investigating reports of street racing when they came upon the suspect vehicle. When the officers approached the Ford Mustang, the driver put it in reverse, striking and then dragging one of the officers into a fence. The other officer fired several shots at the suspect vehicle.

Illinois State Police troopers were called to near Interstate 94 and 67th Street in Englewood about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday after a 2018 black Chrysler sedan that had been heading south collided with a utility pole, according to Trooper Elizabeth Clausing. A 16-year-old boy in the same car also was seriously hurt and authorities said his injuries were considered life-threatening.
