South Redford School District canceled classes Tuesday and Wednesday due to a cyberattack that impacted students and teachers.

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI – A Metro Detroit school district is closed for a second day as cyber security experts work to restore systems after a cyberattack, officials said. South Redford School District, in Redford Township, closed every building in the district Tuesday and announced later that day that the closure would continue Wednesday. Cyber security teams are working “non-stop” to identify and isolate the attack, and to restore systems to normal operations, officials said. Federal and local authorities have been notified of the situation, officials said. “We appreciate the patience and understanding of our communities as we navigate this difficult situation,” Superintendent Jason Bobrovetski said in a statement.

The Cyber Forensic team has advised the South Redford School District to remain closed on Wednesday after classes were closed Tuesday due to a cyber attack.
