Stars keep hot start going with 2-1 OT win over Red Wings

The Red Wings controlled the puck for the first minute-plus of the 3-on-3 period before the Stars gained control and moved into the offensive zone. โI saw he probably thought that I was going to shoot it so I was going to take him out,โ Klingberg said. The Red Wings are winless in four of their past five games this season. Red Wings agree to 1-year extensions with Erne, Hirose
DETROIT โ The Detroit Red Wings agreed to terms Thursday on one-year contract extensions with forwards Adam Erne and Taro Hirose. Erne had two goals and three assists in 56 games this past season. Hirose had two goals and five assists in 26 games for the Red Wings last season. He also played a bit for Detroit in 2018-19 after signing with the Red Wings as a free agent. He tied a franchise record by earning an assist in each of his first five games with the team.

Abdelkader has that hefty contract that does not look good sitting on the 4th line. It's just a mess of different/bad contracts, aging players, young players with unknown value, and players like Cholowski and Hronek who look like the future, but we still can't quite tell -- although Hronek dominated at the 2019 World Championships.
