69th annual Detroit Autorama canceled due to increased COVID-19 cases

The 69th annual Detroit Autorama scheduled to take place Friday, April 30 to Sunday, May 2 at the TCF Center has been canceled due to the recent rise in Michigan coronavirus cases, according to producer of the show, Peter Toundas, president and owner of Championship Auto Shows Inc.

DETROIT – A documentary from Vice showcasing illegal car meetups and stunt driving on Detroit streets garnered hundreds of thousands of views in a matter of days. It comes after two viral videos showed traffic stopped on Lodge Freeway and I-94 while drivers did donuts in the middle of the roadway last year. At one point, drivers are shown doing donuts on I-94. Mahone said he wasn’t part of the I-94 stunt, but he did acknowledge that there have been incidents and the driving can be dangerous. The documentary showed a clip of a car flipping and catching fire.

Drive into the future: Best of the Detroit Auto Show

The Motor City lived up to its name this week as the North American International Auto Show got under way in Detroit. About 40 vehicles made their worldwide debut at the annual event, which opens to the public Saturday. Yahoo Finance columnist Rick Newman, who was in Detroit for the press review, joins "CBS This Morning: Saturday” to highlight new technology and products introduced at the show.
