Lions, Vikings both stumbling to the finish of season
(AP Photo/Al Goldis)DETROIT โ This season will end like so many others for Matthew Stafford: His Detroit Lions have a losing record and wonโt be in the postseason. What's different now is that there are real questions about Stafford's future with the Lions. And if this is Stafford's last game with the Lions, it could be anticlimactic. The Lions (5-10) are coming off a 47-7 loss to Tampa Bay in which Stafford didn't play much. So Detroit will finish with double-digit losses for a third straight season and the sixth time in Stafford's tenure.

The NFL and its players union had people in Nashville meeting with the Titans to review how the team handled the outbreak and checking protocols. The Titans, and any other team with an outbreak or exposed to a team with an outbreak, now have new protocols to follow. The Titansโ outbreak reached 20 cases on Sunday, the teamโs sixth straight day of at least one positive, with 18 returned since Sept. 29.
MONDAY HUDDLE: Surprising upsets highlight first round of prep football playoffs
Prep football playoff brackets already shaken upWho could have seen all this coming in the first round of the state high school football playoffs? This yearโs first round will likely always be remembered for the number of stunning upsets that took place this past weekend. Oak Park, one of the favorites in Division 2 that was littered with future college players, lost to Farmington, 12-6. The only division still with a chance of a repeat champion is Division 8, where Reading is still playing. Qualifying for a bowl and playing for a title in November is terrific turnaround for a CMU program that won one game last year.
World's Longest Viking Bridge Is Finally Finished After 3 Years
A Viking bridge that took three years to build in Denmark is finally done. The bridge, which is now considered to be the world's longest Viking bridge, was built using the tools and methods that Vikings would have used. "This bridge is amazing because it has provided us with unique knowledge about how the Vikings build bridges and roads," said Willerslev. The bridge connects the museum to a site where Viking remains had previously been discovered. It replaces the original bridge that was there, which was thought to have been built by Viking King Harald Bluetooth.
