ANN ARBOR – A former music professor at the University of Michigan was indicted on charges that he transported a minor across state lines to engage in sexual conduct. Stephen Shipps, 67, was expected to be arraigned via video Thursday in federal court, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Detroit. The indictment alleges that on several occasions in 2002 a girl younger than 18 was transported across state lines for sexual activity. Shipps had “close interactions with many young girls who were gifted musicians,” U.S. Attorney Matthew Schneider said in a release. Shipps was placed on administrative leave on Dec. 7, 2018, shortly after the University of Michigan learned of the allegations involving the minor, the school told The Associated Press Thursday.
6 Russian military officers charged in vast hacking campaign

The seven-count indictment is the most recent in a series of Justice Department prosecutions of Russian hackers, often working on behalf of the government. One of the six charged in the case announced Monday was among the Russian military intelligence officers charged with hacking in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election interference. The timing of the indictment was unrelated to the upcoming election in the U.S., said Assistant Attorney General John Demers. The indictment accuses the officers, for instance, of hacking into the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea after Russia was punished by the International Olympic Committee for a vast doping conspiracy.
Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon indicted, accused of defrauding ‘We Build the Wall’ donors
Steve Bannon, a former advisor to President Trump, and three other people have been indicted for an alleged scheme funneling money from the “We Build the Wall” fund. Bannon and three of his colleagues face the indictment from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan, New York. He worked as Trump’s White House chief strategist until his firing in August 2017.
