Clinton River flooding leaves mess across Utica as water levels begin to drop
Cleanup is underway in Utica after days of heavy rain pushed the Clinton River over its banks, flooding backyards, driveways, parks, and a driving range. Water levels are starting to recede, but Macomb County Emergency Management officials are urging residents to stay out of the water until it fully drains. For one Davis Drive resident who has lived along the river for 15 years, this flood was unlike anything she had seen before — rising high enough to reach the doors of an RV parked beside her home and wiping out her entire backyard.
