One blood donation can save up to 3 lives -- here's what to know about upcoming blood drives
Donating blood takes about an hour, but for cancer patients, premature babies, accident victims, and surgical patients in our community, that hour can mean the difference between life and death. A single donation can save up to three lives — but meeting that need depends on enough people being willing to give their time. One local donor has been doing exactly that for the past 39 years. Local 4 has also teamed up with Garder White and the Red Cross for blood drives on Tuesday, April 21, and Thursday, April 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
